Norwich Castle Wedding Photographer | Intimate Registry Office Wedding
Julia & Roy | November 28th 2025
Roy found me by searching for the best wedding photographers on ChatGPT, which I thought was pretty cool! Roy and Julia tied the knot in the beautiful Benefactors Room at Norwich Castle. As a Norwich Castle Registry Office wedding photographer who has photographed here many times before, it was a real pleasure to return. Getting married inside a castle is always something special – especially being surrounded by so much history and character.
Norwich Castle Registry Office Wedding Ceremony
Roy booked me for three hours of coverage, starting half an hour before the ceremony and finishing after couple portraits. I arrived in good time to get to know the wedding party and calm any nerves before the ceremony. The Benefactors Room is my favourite space to photograph at Norwich Castle thanks to its large windows and natural light. Julia and Roy chose just two friends as witnesses for their wedding, making it the perfect intimate Norwich castle wedding. They walked down the aisle together and were seated during their ceremony, creating a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. The love between them was incredibly moving, and there were a few teary eyes both during and after the ceremony.
An Intimate Norwich Castle Registry Office Wedding
Once the schedule was signed, the newlyweds shared some warm embraces with their friends, before having photos by the fire place. They walked back down the aisle together as a married couple while being congratulated by their guests. It was the perfect small wedding in Norfolk. Afterwards, we headed outside for group photos around the castle grounds.
Couple Portraits at Norwich Castle
Our first backdrop was in front of the original castle doors. I also captured a full photo of the castle with Roy and Julia in the foreground – one of my favourite photos from the day. The castle looked so impressive against a blue and pink dusky sky, even matching the colours in Julia’s dress. After a few more portraits round the castle, we captured some with the city skyline and Cathedral in the background.
Confetti Photos on the the Norwich Castle Bridge
Of course, no wedding is complete without confetti photos, so we headed to the castle bridge. The castle bridge creates the perfect spot for confetti photos and these moments were full of natural smiles and joy. We completed the day with detail shots of the flowers and wedding rings, before they headed to the infamous Stoke Mill for a meal to continue their celebrations.
Norwich Castle Registry Office is one of the most iconic historic wedding venues in Norwich. It’s perfect for couples planning a small, intimate wedding in Norfolk.
Kind Words from Roy & Julia
“We couldn’t be happier with the experience we had with Hannah as our Norfolk wedding photographer. From the very beginning she was friendly, professional, calming and completely organised – exactly what you want on such an important day.
On the wedding day itself, Hannah was an absolute joy to have around. She made everyone feel comfortable, blended in so naturally, and captured the day beautifully without ever making anything feel staged or stressful. Her attention to detail was outstanding, and she somehow managed to catch all the big and little moments, even emotional ones we didn’t realise were happening.
The photos are simply stunning – the quality, lighting, composition and storytelling are all exceptional. Looking through them brought the whole day back to life. We’re genuinely so grateful to have such wonderful memories captured so perfectly.
If you’re considering Hannah for your wedding, don’t hesitate. She’s incredibly talented, reliable, and a truly lovely person to work with. We would recommend her to anyone without question. Thank you Hannah – you were brilliant!”
Thank you so much for your kind words, Roy. I felt so welcome and thoroughly enjoyed celebrating such an important day with you. x
