Norwich Castle Elopement

Paul and Andreea had a very special elopement ceremony at Norwich Castle with just 12 of their family and friends. Andreea is from Romania and Paul is from the UK and they fell in love with the idea of getting married in a castle! They told me the story of how they met online and it was just like something from a movie! Andreea’s family had flown over especially for their wedding day and they had booked me to take photos of their Norwich Castle elopement and some group and couple photos after in the castle grounds.

When I arrived to photograph their Norwich castle elopement, their guests were waiting outside excited for the day ahead. After capturing some candid photos we were led through the castle to the ceremony room to be seated. Paul and Andreea had decided to walk down the aisle together and it wasn’t long before the grand doors were opened for their announcement into the room. There were many emotional faces in the room during the ceremony. These are always some of my favourite moments to capture!

After the elopement, we headed to the front of the castle for a confetti shot on the bridge. We then proceeded to the grounds for some formal but also fun group photos. Paul had invited a few of his Uni friends and they asked me to re-create a photo they had together a few years prior. I always love this idea, it really creates timeless memories that can be treasured for years to come. It’s always fascinating to see how people change!

Elopement photographer in Norfolk

The couple and I went for a walk around the castle grounds to get a variety of photos. Some of my favourites were towards the back of the castle with a great view of the city and Norwich Cathedral. We also ventured under the bridge and then back to the gardens with the castle in the background – the perfect dramatic backdrop. It was here that I left them to enjoy a delicious, intimate meal at The Assembly House and drinks with their loved ones. The perfect end to their Norwich castle elopement!
