Mike & Kate | Hales Hall Wedding
Norfolk Wedding Photographer
Second Shooting | 02/11/2019
Mike, Kate and their families stayed at Hales Hall the night before the wedding, making it ideal for us to capture the bride and groom prep. Hales Hall is a beautiful 15th Century English country house – a stunning backdrop for a wedding. Kate had a very chilled morning with each member of the bridal party, taking turns to have their make up applied by Amanda Steed and a nerve settling drink. Meanwhile the groomsmen were rehearsing their speeches, fixing their ties and toasting with a bottle of champagne.
Mike and Kate did things a little differently by seeing each other prior to the ceremony. They had arranged a first look in one of the bedrooms, where we made use of the beautiful wooden beams for some pre-ceremony couple shots and Kate’s father came along for a sneaky peek too.
The Great Barn looked incredible! There were candles lit in each of the windows, while photographic anecdotes and Autumnal flowers from Floral Sistas decorated the tables. Kate was walked down the aisle on her fathers arm to a candle lit ceremony and there were a few tears shed by proud family members. Afterwards, the guests made their way outside for confetti and group photos in front of the barn doors. They then enjoyed canapés inside, whilst Andy and I explored the gardens with Mike and Kate for some photos opportunities. The Autumn leaves made a stunning backdrop and we had the grounds to ourselves – Hales Hall has a lot to offer!
Shortly after, the bride and groom were announced back inside ready for the speeches, before tucking into the wedding breakfast. Once tummies were filled, the cake cutting and first dance took place and the wedding party were entertained by a live band that performed in the centre of the dance floor! They were so much fun and really got the crowd going – even the little ones were busting shapes!
It was now dark outside, so the main wedding party headed out for some sparkler shots and as it started raining, we took the opportunity to grab a striking night portrait of Kate and Mike under an umbrella. This image just goes to prove that rain isn’t alway a bad thing on your wedding day!
