Holkham St.Withburga Church Ceremony & Binham Village Hall Reception

Abigail & George | July 20th 2024

After our initial video call, I met Abigail and George at the beach for their pre-wedding shoot in October 2023. We had lots of fun getting to know each other before their big day in amongst the woods and sand dunes. Abigail and George met through work and have such a beautiful connection and love for one another. Hearing about their plans made me really excited for their day!

The wedding ceremony was held at Holkham St.Withburga church, close to the couples hometown with the reception at Binham Village Hall. Abigail had a calm morning getting ready at home with her mum and bridal party. She had already displayed her dress and accessories beautifully for me to photograph. She even kept some invitations for me to use for flat lays.

Holkham St.Withburga wedding ceremony

Before we knew it, it was time to head to the church for their wedding ceremony. This was my first Holkham St.Withburga church wedding and wow what a first impression. Sitting on top of a hill, this impressive historic building boasts beautiful architecture and stained glass windows. Abigail and George had a heartfelt ceremony with looks of adoration between throughout. It really was wholesome to watch! Afterwards, the guests lined up outside with confetti while we made the most of the church interior with some couple portraits. There was a sea of white confetti, the kind that perfectly floats in the air guaranteeing incredible photos. The formal group photos took place in the shade outside the church on what was one of the hottest days of the year before heading to the reception venue.

The couple had a stunning flower arch outside at Binham Village Hall ready for a photo with each of their guests once they arrived to ensure they didn’t miss anyone. Shortly afterwards they enjoyed a hog roast, courtesy of H.G.Graves – a local butcher in Briston before the speeches. The doors to outside were open and the children were able to play on the grass field backing onto Binham Village Hall. The hall was decorated beautifully and Abigail had even set up a phone charging station for their guests!

Binham Priory Ruins

During the afternoon Abigail, George and I crossed the road for some couple photos at Binham Priory ruins. It was the perfect backdrop for some scenic photos. In the evening they enjoyed sweets, cake and several shots outside on the patio! Many of their work friends were attending the evening party, complete with Dj Chris from Movin’ Sounds. Lots of dancing to classics such as ‘YMCA’ and ‘Saturday Night’ took place in the evening which is always a thrill to photograph. I had been keeping an eye on the weather for golden hour and Abigail, George and I headed over to Binham Priory ruins one last time for some portraits. We were pleasantly surprised to see a horse grazing in the field by the ruins which gave us a stunning backdrop for the images.

North Norfolk wedding photographer

“Hannah is amazing! The best photographer! I honestly couldn’t recommend her enough. From the beginning of our day she made everyone feel so comfortable. She captured so many photos for us and nothing was ever too much trouble for her. She didn’t feel like a photographer, never getting in the way, she felt like part of the family. I can’t wait to reach out to Hannah when I next need professional photos.” – A&G

Abigail and George you are such a warm, friendly and down to earth couple and I felt like part of your family too. I have thoroughly enjoyed re-living your day through this blog post and I wish you all the happiness for your future together.
