Cannon fires, first dance routines & castle portraits! | 25/10/2018
Ian and Demelza got married at Penndennis Castle. A beautiful Cornwall wedding venue, that sits proudly on the edge of a cliff, with Cornwall’s stunning blue sea as its backdrop.
Pre -wedding photoshoot:
In February 2018, Ian and Demelza had their pre-wedding photoshoot in the forest at Sandringham, Norfolk. Their children, Isabella and Torres came along too and had lots of fun throwing leaves and jumping in puddles.
The wedding day:
The candlelit Cornwall wedding, was held inside the Castle Keep – Lower Gun Room, where a red carpet lined the aisle and fairy lights decorated the stone pillars. It was absolutely stunning and to access it, you cross a magnificent Tudor stone bridge.
Demelza arrived in a traditional white Beauford – a surprise organised by her mother. Isabella was her flower girl, who did a brilliant job at laying a path of rose petals for her mother, as she walked down the aisle. After a cosy winter ceremony, champagne was provided before group photos in front of the castle and as part of a Penndennis castle tradition, a cannon was fired over the sea, marking their marriage! A moody afternoon sky and miles of endless sea, made the perfect setting for some dramatic couple shots on the castle roof and bridge.
The reception was held in the Royal Artillery Barrack, with sharing platters of cold meats and salad. The speeches began and the wedding cake was eaten. Ed, the best man, had everybody in stitches!
An incredible first dance routine was performed with the bride and grooms children. It was carried out to perfection, bringing many smiles among the guests. We finished the evening with some dramatic night portraits and sparkler shots, in front of the castle.
