Evie & Harry | Kettlestone Church, Norfolk Wedding
Norfolk Wedding Photographer
The perfect DIY country wedding | 25/08/2018
Evie and I went to primary and high school together, so I was honoured to be able to photograph her wedding. Evie and Harry had an intimate elopement which took place at All Saints church, Kettlestone with the reception in Evie’s parents garden opposite, where we spent most of our childhood together!
Prior to the day, Evie and Harry had a pre-wedding photoshoot with their 1 year old daughter, Millie in the woods at Wells-Next-The-Sea. Millie was a little camera shy to start with but soon came round and ended up being quite the poser, resulting in some adorable images!
The Wedding Day:
Evie got ready at her childhood home, on a gorgeous summers day. Having her makeup done by the lovely Emma from The Beauty Box, Fakenham, who we also went to school with.
I began by capturing the guests arriving and Harry with his best man, outside the church. Harry and Evie live in Plymouth so it was the perfect opportunity for a family reunion.
The bridesmaids, Millie the flower girl and their page boy, led Evie and her father down the aisle and Millie stayed in Evie’s arms throughout the ceremony. Unfortunately All Saints church doesn’t allow photography during the ceremony (however I managed to sneak a couple of shots!) but Evie and Harry had organised for their daughter to be christened afterwards, which I was able to capture.
Outside the church, the newly weds greeted their guests while the little ones covered them in confetti. A short stroll over the road brought the guests to Evie’s parents house for a chilled garden party, set against an endless backdrop of corn fields. The secluded setting made it ideal for the children to run around, while the guests enjoyed a few drinks and a finger buffet, all set out in a large marquee on the lawn. The afternoon consisted of garden games and some fun group shots before heading into the marquee for the speeches.
A heartfelt speech from the brides mother and a humorous one by the best man filled the marquee with tears and laughter! Little Millie sat on Evie’s lap throughout and was rather enjoying the camera! After the speeches, the children continued having lots of fun, playing together in the garden. The guests were soaking up the sun and golden hour was now approaching, making it the perfect time for the couple shots. Evie led the way to her father’s field, where the golden sun and stunning soft light came together perfectly. These two were naturals in front of the camera!
The wedding party enjoyed a delicious hog roast, provided by local butcher H.V. Graves and as Harry and Evie decided against music and a first dance, I was invited to put my cameras away and enjoy the rest of the party! It was lovely to catch up with some old school friends and one of my previous couples Amanda and Ant, who’s wedding I filmed a few years before!
As it began to get dark, we were graced with a beautiful blood orange moon! I knew it was too good to miss, so I quickly whipped my camera and took a silhouette shot of Evie and Harry, with the moon in the middle, and WOW wasn’t it worth it!
