Barsham Barns Wedding Photographer – Intimate North Norfolk Wedding

Lizzie & Buster | September 13th 2025

As a Norfolk wedding photographer, this was surprisingly my first visit to Barsham Barns – and what a venue for a first! Set within the rolling fields of the North Norfolk countryside, it’s a beautiful barn wedding venue that feels both stylish and relaxed. Simply stunning.

North Norfolk Wedding Photographer

Lizzie and Buster booked me for their wedding photography with one clear brief: relaxed, candid photos. That aligns perfectly with my style, so I knew straight away we’d be a great fit. We got to know each other during their pre-wedding shoot, where I also discovered we share another love…amazing food! They planned an intimate wedding with around 20 guests, centred around a seven-course meal by Norfolk’s Edge. It sounded incredible and it absolutely was!

Wedding Morning at Barsham Barns

The wedding morning was calm, emotional and full of anticipation. Buster and his groomsmen enjoyed a relaxed start upstairs with a glass of bubbly, while Lizzie opened an emotional letter and gift from Buster as her bridesmaids had their make up done. Lizzie had saved me some of their invites to photograph alongside their flowers and wedding rings, which I loved. Capturing the details is one of my favourite parts of the day – so much thought goes into planning them, it’s lovely to preserve them forever. Barsham Barns is filled with natural light and stylish backdrops, making it an absolute dream for photography. There were so many emotional moments throughout the morning, creating beautiful, natural candid images.

A Quaint Church Ceremony in North Norfolk

The church is just a five-minute walk away from the Barns, and Lizzie decided to walk there in the sunshine – such a lovely, unhurried moment. The church itself was quaint and full of charm, and with Lizzie’s uncle officiating as the vicar, the ceremony felt even more personal and meaningful. After the ceremony, we just managed confetti outside the church before the rain arrived. We made the call to delay group photos and head back to the Barsham Barns for shelter, where guests enjoyed an intimate drinks reception and canapés indoors. Once the rain passed, we continued with group photos outside.

Golden Hour Portraits at Barsham Barns

Lizzie and Buster chose to have their speeches before the meal, meaning they could fully relax and enjoy the food. Lizzie asked me to photograph each dish before it was served – ideal for me, as I also love photographing food.

During the meal, the heavens opened once again, but stopped in time for couple portraits during golden hour. There were endless golden fields surrounding the venue, providing the perfect backdrop. We also returned to the church to capture some of the portraits we missed during the rain.

An Intimate Norfolk Wedding Celebration

Back at Barsham Barns, Lizzie and Buster popped a bottle of champagne during some night portraits, before heading inside to cut their cake. Afterwards, they made a grand entrance for their first dance, surprising everyone with a rehearsed routine, surrounded by their loved ones.

The wedding party proceeded to dance the night away enjoying their own personalised wedding playlist. With on-site accommodation, everyone was able to stay and enjoy breakfast together the following morning – the perfect end to a truly perfect intimate wedding weekend.

“Hannah was utterly fabulous! We are so pleased we picked Hannah to do our wedding photos, she made the whole day a breeze. There was no pressure from her throughout the day and she captured the best pictures and memories. All of our guests said how wonderful she was. Our minds were put to ease as Hannah spent time getting to know us, captured our pre-wedding shoot and talked us through the whole process. The gallery link and personalised USB of the photos were perfect and we got so many! Our guests also loved having the link to download all the photos. Our brief was, we want lots of relaxed candid photos, and Hannah certainly delivered. Thank you Hannah x”

Lizzie, I’m so happy to hear how pleased you are with your experience. I loved being part of your intimate wedding day and you truly made me feel like part of the family. x
