Autumnal Oxnead Hall Wedding

I first met Chloe and Ben for their pre-wedding shoot at Mousehold Heath. They brought their gorgeous spaniel, Theo, along and told me all about their Autumnal Oxnead Hall wedding. I had previously photographed a wedding that they were guests at, two years prior, so it was an honour when they chose me to capture their day!

On October 19th, I started the morning at Oxnead Hall with Chloe and her bridal party. They had a very chilled morning, complete with Prosecco. Shortly after, I headed to Ben’s parents house to photograph the groom prep. Chloe had asked me to make sure Ben received the gift she’d arranged for him to open on their wedding morning. She had surprised him with Oasis tickets – an incredible surprise, since they were like gold dust! Ben, his parents, their adorable Terrier and groomsmen had some group photos outside the house before I went back to the girls.

As the bridal party moved to the bridal suite, I captured Ben’s arrival in his Dad’s classic E-Type Jaguar. It was a stunning maroon coloured convertible and ensured that Ben arrived in style! As their ceremony approached, it was time for Chloe to get into her wedding dress. This was an emotional moment and it made it all, feel so real for Chloe. She looked beautiful as she perched on the chaise lounge, while her sister fastened her heels. Chloe had chosen the perfect maroon coloured bridesmaid dresses for their October wedding. After some ‘first look’ photos with her bridal party and Father, it was time to walk to the church.

There were so many smiles between Chloe, her father and Ben as they reached the end of the aisle. Including a few happy tears from Ben. It was a heartfelt ceremony, which included a beautiful reading from one of Ben’s brothers. After a confetti shot outside the church, the newly weds greeted their very excited spaniel, Theo who had been waiting patiently outside the church. We made sure that after the couple greeted their guests, we had allocated some time for photos with the classic car and Theo, before he went home. During the reception, Ben and Chloe chose to have their group photos in front of Oxnead’s lake while people mingled on the lawn.

As the guests were called for the wedding breakfast, we went for couple photos around the grounds. As always with Oxnead, every backdrop is picturesque, but even more so with the autumnal tones. The orange fallen leaves made it even more beautiful, if that was even possible! Once the newly-weds were announced into the barn, the speeches commenced. An array of emotions filled the room. Meanwhile, I had been keeping an eye on the sunset times for golden hour photos. The sun sets earlier behind the trees at Oxnead, so timing is essential! Chloe, Ben and I headed back to the grounds and were not disappointed. Although a little hazy, we still got some great portraits before the sun went down. The perfect ending to an awesome day featured lively dance floor antics, personalised wedding sunglasses, an Instagram photo frame and of course the cake cut and first dance. It was truly a day to remember!
